As part of their drive to educate schools about sustainability and the environment BSI created a competition call Get Green Go. The competition invites schools all over the UK to develop sustainable project and present their finding to the BSI team and judges before the winners are invited to a star studded prize giving at Old Trafford.

For the first year of the competition, in 2008, Design Depot was asked to come up with a way of creating awareness without creating a huge paper trail. As the emphasis was on recycling, the environment and how to be more sustainable it was decided that less was more and that any marketing material should have more than one objective.

The campaign created built in a leaflet, a entry form and a poster into one A3 double sided document so that teachers could instantly find out about the competition, could enter their school and then use the poster as an awareness tool for parents and pupils. This was created on recycled stock and used lots of green themes to promote recycling, cycling and public transport is a fun way.

Design Depot were also asked to come up with an environmentally friendly, and recycled, trophy that would be presented to the winning schools, across three categories, at the prize giving day. A trophy was sourced that would not only fit this remit but also encourage another realm of recycling. The trophy was made of recycled mobile phones that were morphed and developed into a sustainable prize that the schools could cherish and continue to learn from.

Design Depot are proud to announce that for the second year running they will be designing all marketing literature for the competition as well as providing a sustainable trophy.
